Rob Morrison is a self-taught glassblower from Eugene, Oregon, who discovered the medium in 1995 after a chance meeting at the Oregon Country Fair. After studying biochemistry in Pennsylvania, Morrison moved to Eugene and was introduced to the world of glassblowing through a scientific supply company called Wale Apparatus. He took an 8-year break but returned in 2008 and began taking classes and making marbles. In 2010, he met Paul Stankard, a renowned glass artist, who challenged him to express an idea in glass, resulting in his first sculpture, a glass diorama of Prometheus Bound. In addition to working with glass, Morrison also took classes in 3D sculpture, figure drawing, and art history at a local community college. In 2012, he began making functional glass muppets and farm animals, using his own designs and celebrating the individuality of each piece.
