About G.D. Glass

Geoff, better known by his art name G.D. Glass, is a glass artist based in S. Austin, who has gained recognition for his functional glass pieces. Although he has no formal education in glass art, his passion and talent for the craft led him to experiment and develop his unique style.

Geoff has adapted a sand bottle art technique to apply colors to his pieces, which gives them a distinctive look. He is a self-taught artist who has learned from various glass artists like Jmass, Kevin Ivey, Revere, Hamms Waterworks, Vertigo, ENS, Dwreck, Flex, and many more. Geoff has collaborated with several artists, and his works have been featured in various exhibitions and shows, including an upcoming one at Stoked CT.

Geoff's creative process involves sketching out his ideas with a pencil and paper. He is continually exploring new techniques and styles, and his art has evolved significantly over time. He started with marbles and gradually transitioned to pipes and rigs. He now uses frit in intricate ways, which has become a hallmark of his style.

Geoff works from his garage studio in S. Austin, where he can access his equipment and work when inspiration strikes. His location influences his work, and he draws inspiration from the beautiful scenery and vibrant culture of the area. Geoff owns G.D. Glass and also goes by the art name GeoffMadeGlass.

Although he hasn't won any awards or recognition for his work yet, Geoff is always working on new projects. He is currently excited about his Tiger series and has been creating colorful Pint Glasses and sand art patterns for collaborative artists. When asked where he sees himself in the industry in five years, he is uncertain, as glass art has taken him on many different journeys.

Geoff's advice to aspiring glass artists is to take classes and learn good habits. He believes that it's hard to unlearn bad techniques, and proper training can help develop a strong foundation for the art. You can follow Geoff's work on social media @G.D.Glass, where he showcases his unique and stunning pieces.
